, Telugu cinema has stamped its authority at the prestigious stage this time around. While
Keerthy Suresh bagged the
Best Actress
award for her stellar performance as the legendary Savitri in
Mahanati

Awe
pulled out a surprise by winning two awards; Best VFX and Best Make-up.

, the psychological anthology film is jointly bankrolled by Prashanti Tipirneni and Natural Star
Nani who also gave his voice for a goldfish. Featuring an ensemble cast like
Kajal Aggarwal, Nithya Menen and
Regina Cassandra, Awe released to glowing reviews from critics and viewers with special accolades to the technical crew.
Expressing jubilation over the mighty performance of his maiden production, Nani took to social media and wrote “Wall poster cinema team is very proud today. 2 national awards for our debut production. what more can we ask. Thank u to all our cast and crew. Thank u jury and congratulations to all the award winners.”
In Awe, writer-cum-director Prashanth Varma addressed sensitive issues of gender-bias, sexual abuse, identity, opportunity and loss through the lives of several characters: The biker/psychiatrist, the girl-next-door, the chef, the drug-addict and tattooed waitress, the magician, and others.
