‘Nene Raju Nene Mantri’, ‘LIE’ and ‘Jaya Janaki Nayaka’ clash was inevitable: Bharath Chowdary

In an industry that churns out the second largest number of films every year, releasing in a year, and only box-office clashes are inevitable! Therefore, big films make it a point to keep out of one another’s way and thereby avoid eating into their respective market shares. However, despite the best of intentions, clashes sometimes become inevitable., the most recent being the one between, ‘

Nene Raju Nene Mantri

’, ‘

LIE

’ and ‘

Jaya Janaki Nayaka

’ which released on August 11. Though all three movies are doing well at the box office, the three-way clash did impact each other's revenue prospects.

Though the makers were banking on the movies’ strong stardom and storylines, they could not ignore this fact either that none of the films would achieve their potential in the eventuality of a clash at the ticket-window.

Bharath Chowdary

, producer of ‘Nene Raju Nene Mantri’, could not agree more. “Suresh Babu attended three meetings with the producers of ‘LIE’ and ‘Jaya Janaki Nayaka’ regarding the change of dates. But none of the producers were ready to step out of the race, keeping in mind the interest rate for the finance of the films among several other issues. Everyone had zeroed in on August 11. Thus the clash could not be avoided. But we all parted on the best of terms,” said Bharath Chowdary.

According to reports, the Rana Daggubati starrer ‘Nene Raju Nene Mantri’ is leading the box-office business, beating Nithiin's ‘LIE’ and Bellamkonda Sreenivas' 'Jaya Janaki Nayaka'. 'Nene Raju Nene Mantri’ and ‘LIE’ are holding well at the overseas box office, however ‘Jaya Janaki Nayaka’managed lukewarm response.
