Nithiin responds to 'Robinhood' and 'Kick' comparisons; says "Takes a fresh route after 20 minutes"

Nithiin's latest action-comedy 'Robinhood' has finally released in theatres today. Ahead of its release, fans noted similarities between 'Robinhood' and Ravi Teja's starrer 'Kick' released in 2009.

'Robinhood' and 'Kick' are being compared particularly in the concept of a vigilante who steals from the rich. Addressing these comparisons, as per a 123Telugu report, Nithiin acknowledged that while both films share a similar premise, 'Robinhood' after the first twenty minutes takes a fresh narrative. He said, "The film takes a fresh route and offers amazing comedy. It has action, romance, songs, and, most importantly, twists and turns that everyone will love".

Directed by Venky Kudumula, the film revolves around the life of a vigilante thief who steals from the rich, but with a larger purpose. The protagonist, played by Nithiin, initially takes on the persona of a modern-day Robin Hood, targeting corrupt individuals. It also stars Sreeleela as the female lead by the character, Neera Vasudev.

The film’s production spanned multiple locations, including Hyderabad, Munnar, and Melbourne. It faced delays due to unforeseen circumstances but wrapped up filming in December 2024. The music for 'Robinhood' was composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar in his maiden collaboration with Nithiin. Songs like 'One More Time' and 'Adhi Dha Surprisu' have already gained popularity among fans.

'Robinhood' marks the second collaboration between Nithiin and director Venky Kudumula after their successful venture 'Bheeshma'. The film also features Shine Tom Chacko, Vennela Kishore, and Rajendra Prasad in key roles. Former Australian cricketer David Warner makes his acting debut with a cameo appearance.

On the other hand, 'Kick' became a landmark in Ravi Teja's career. Directed by Surender Reddy, the film follows Kalyan, a thrill-seeker who craves a "kick" in every aspect of life. His reckless behavior leads to humorous situations, romantic entanglements with Naina and a confrontation with Kalyan Krishna, an upright cop. The movie was later remade in Bollywood starring Salman Khan which was a superhit.
