Expectations for director
Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s next directorial venture have already breached the stratosphere. Following the historic, multi-crore box office hit of 'Animal', the filmmaker has fully immersed himself in his next cinematic universe alongside Rebel Star Prabhas. Titled 'Spirit', the high-octane crime-drama is currently progressing through an intense, fast-paced shooting schedule in Telangana. The production recently made headlines after the crew took over one of Hyderabad’s most legendary single-screen exhibition landmarks to film a sequence promising classic, gritty Vanga-esque elevations.
Historic Hyderabad theatre becomes the latest shooting location
The latest schedule of ‘Spirit’ has commenced in Hyderabad, with the makers selecting the famous Vimal Theatre in Balanagar for the shoot. Considered one of the most well-known single-screen theatres in the city, the theatre’s journey spans over four decades. Having witnessed the release of numerous big-ticket movies over the years, the theatre has now emerged as a landmark venue for one of the biggest films in the pipeline in India. As per NTNews, many scenes are being shot at the location.
Prabhas' presence draws a huge crowd of fans
The moment local media outlets leaked confirmation that Prabhas would be physically present at Balanagar for the short schedule, the surrounding streets were instantly overwhelmed. Thousands of die-hard fans swarmed the perimeter of the theatre, desperate to catch a glimpse of the Rebel Star.
To prevent disruptions to the film’s tight timeline, the producers quickly deployed heavy private security alongside local law enforcement. Barriers erected around the complex allowed the technical team to control the crowd successfully while keeping the cameras rolling smoothly.
Star-studded cast raises expectations for 'Spirit'
The film marks the Telugu cinema debut of Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi, who will serve as the central antagonist opposite Prabhas. Joining the cast in pivotal roles are veteran actress Kanchana and rising talent Aishwarya Desai, while the musical score is being crafted by Harshavardhan Rameshwar.
The studio has confirmed that Spirit is being formatted as a pan-world entertainer. The movie will debut simultaneously in eight languages, tracking domestic Indian regions alongside targeted international releases across Chinese, Japanese, and Korean theatrical markets.
