Producer Naga Vamsi defends 'Guntur Kaaram' success amidst media criticism

Tollywood's Superstar Mahesh Babu starrer 'Guntur Kaaram' alongside Sreeleela and directed by Trivikram was one of the successful releases of this year, being highly appreciated by the fans and marking Mahesh Babu's comeback on the silver screen after a long time.

While the movie received some mixed reviews from critics and fans, it proved to be a commercial triumph at the box office, generating an estimated Rs 231 crore globally, as per a report by Sacnilk. Though making such big numbers at the box office, even getting released on a crowded release date, the movie was touted to have made a little less than the expectations of a Mahesh Babu film.

A video went viral on X, with the movie's producer, Naga Vamsi, recently discussing the film's financial journey at another film's event. During the event, Naga Vamsi responded candidly to questions regarding the performance of the film. He implied that although the media might have expressed displeasure, the crew behind 'Guntur Kaaram' was not disappointed by the result.

He stated, "The media got disappointed, but we were not disappointed with the result of #GunturKaaram." His statement resonated with the audience, drawing enthusiastic applause.

'Guntur Kaaram' resonated with audiences across the globe, surpassing initial doubts. The success of the movie shows Mahesh Babu's ongoing popularity and also highlights the chemistry between Mahesh Babu and director Trivikram, as it marked their third collaboration. The movie generated around Rs 129 crore in Telugu states.
