'Pushpa 2' leaked online in ultra HD amid theatre dispute

Allu Arjun's much-awaited sequel 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' has become the latest victim of piracy, as an ultra HD version of the film was reportedly leaked online.

Trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan broke the news on Friday, raising concerns over the impact it may have on the film's box office collections. His Tweet read, "SHOCKING: Pushpa ultra HD leaked online."



This is against the backdrop of reports of a tiff between the makers of the film and the PVR INOX theatre chain in North India. The issue had reportedly led to the removal of Pushpa 2 shows in that region, but the controversy was quickly resolved and screenings resumed.

Despite these challenges, the Sukumar-directed film has continued its impressive run at the box office. Within 16 days, Pushpa 2 has garnered Rs 1004.35 crores in India alone.

The film has gone very well in Hindi markets, adding Rs 632.6 crores to the total collections. The Telugu version has raked in Rs 297.8 crores. Tamil Nadu and Karnataka collections are Rs 52.8 crores and Rs 7.16 crores, respectively.

Pushpa 2, a sequel to the blockbuster 2021 movie 'Pushpa: The Rise', has been directed by Sukumar. The action-entertainer sees Allu Arjun in a reprisal role as Pushpa Raj. Other pivotal roles are being portrayed by Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil.
