Ram Charan's 'RC16' officially titled 'Peddi'; Makers unveil intense poster on his 40th birthday

On the occasion of his 40th birthday, Ram Charan's upcoming film, previously known as 'RC 16', has been officially titled 'Peddi'. The makers unveiled a powerful first look of the Mega Power Star in a rugged and intense avatar. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, 'Peddi' is a sports drama that promises to deliver a gripping narrative set in rural Andhra Pradesh.

Ram Charan has undergone a stunning transformation for 'Peddi', shedding his typical superstar aura to embrace a raw and earthy character.

The makers shared posters revealing him in a fierce avatar, with one image showing him lighting a biddi (a traditional Indian cigarette) from another, with intensity in his fiery eyes. Another poster captures his side profile, giving an intense over-the-shoulder look that has left fans excited.

On X (formerly Twitter), wishing Ram Charan a Happy Birthday, the makers wrote, "�� ������ ���� ������ ��������, �� ���������� ���� ������ ������������ #RC16 is #PEDDI Happy Birthday, Global Star @AlwaysRamCharan".

The film is speculated to be set in the 1980s and follows a spirited villager who unites his community through sports to defend their pride against a powerful rival. Ram Charan plays the lead role of Peddi, a character that embodies the spirit of the land and its people.

'Peddi' features an ensemble cast, including Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor, Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, and 'Mirzapur' fame Divyendu Sharma.

The music is composed by the legendary AR Rahman, known for his unforgettable soundtracks. R. Rathnavelu handles the cinematography, while Navin Nooli is the editor.

Initially set for a 2025 release, 'Peddi' as per Pinkvilla, it is reported to be released in March 2026, following Netflix's acquisition of its streaming rights. This strategic move allows the film to maximize its theatrical run before its digital release.
