Director Ram Gopal Varma is prompt in reacting to movie releases and reviewing them with different factors. Recently, the director took to his social media account to applaud Prashanth Varma’s original Telugu superhero movie 'Hanu-Man,' starring Teja Sajja. Ram Gopal appreciated Prashanth for making a movie with a low budget but top-notch VFX.
He posted a video on his Twitter handle and mentioned the director Prashanth Varma, saying, “Hey Prashanth Varma, you are the DAVID and everyone knows who the GOLIATH is, #hanumania.” In the video, the director appreciates Prashanth Varma for making "Hanu-Man" with a meager budget. Ram Gopal said, “Hanu-Man is a typical case of David killing Goliath. So, it is not about the commercial success, but the more important thing is he managed to make the budget less when all the biggies in the industry kept telling the audience that they spent 300 to 500 crores to make a movie and better VFX. But Prashanth proves this just requires a mind.” He praised Prashanth for having integrity, honesty, and perseverance.
Ram Gopal believes this is a slap on the face of all the big-budget filmmakers, and he appreciated Prashanth for this lesson, stating that this will lead people to ask why anyone would need a big budget for any movies. He said that Prashanth did a great service on a financial level to the industry and thanked Prashanth on behalf of the industry.
Previously, Ram Gopal took to his social media handle to appreciate Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 2023 blockbuster film ‘Animal,’ starring Ranbir Kapoor.
'Hanu-Man' had a theatrical release on January 12, 2024, along with Mahesh Babu’s ‘Guntur Kaaram.’ It has earned around Rs 7 crores on its first day of release in India. The movie is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 25 crores.
