After striking the right chord with a couple of soothing songs and a heart-touching teaser, the makers of
Jaanu
have recently unveiled the theatrical trailer of the film and the 2-minute clip instantly hit the bull’s eye with the crackling chemistry between the lead pair. Starring
Samantha Akkineni and
Sharwanand, this Telugu remake of the Kollywood blockbuster
96
is helmed by the original director Prem Kumar and bankrolled by prominent producer
Dil Raju.
Both the pre-release and release events of Jaanu turned out to be massive successes with fans thronging into the venues to catch a glimpse of Sam and Sharwa. Meanwhile, during the grand event at Vizag, Dil Raju thanked
Prabhas for the title of Jaanu. “First of all, I would like to thank Rebel Star Prabhas for permitting to use the title of Jaanu. When we finalised Jaanu as the apt title of the film, he has already begun shooting for Jaan. However, after contacting UV Creations, they took a few days’ time and finally granted us permission. I wholeheartedly thank Prabhas at this moment.”
From the promos of Jaanu, it’s quite evident that music director Govind Vasantha has stayed true to the genre by composing mesmerising tunes for Jaanu. While the cinematography is brilliantly handled by Mahendran Jayaraj N, the editing has been done by Praveen KL. The film is set for a release on February 7.
Helmed on a shoe-string budget, the original version of 96 opened to fabulous response from all quarters and enjoyed a glorious run at the ticket counters. Trisha and Vijay Sethupathi have played the leads.
