Rumours about Naga Shaurya and Srinivas Avasarala's film put to rest

The filmmakers of Naga Shaurya’s next with Srinivas Avasarala have clarified that the film is not

shelved

Recently, reports stated that after Naga Shaurya’s Ammamagarillu and Nartanasala receiving lukewarm response and

Aswathama

not doing as well as intended, the project has been shelved as it ‘doesn’t look viable at this point of time’. There were also

rumours

that the budget for the film has been overshot, which is why the

schedule

that is to take place abroad has been put on hold.

However, the production house put those rumours to rest and shared an update on social media that half the film has already been shot and that the team is waiting for their visas to finish rest of the shoot. They wrote, .@IamNagashaurya and #AvasaralaSrinivas project is 50% done and rest is to be shot in USA. We are waiting for visas, project is very much shaping up well and rumors of shelving the project are wrong and baseless! (sic)


Srinivas Avasarala too took to social media to share a note that reads, “I’m very excited about two projects I’m currently working on:

Nootokka Jillala Andagadu

and

Phalana Abbai Phalana Ammai

. While nootokka is nearing completion, we finished shooting the Indian portions of PAPA and will resume shoot for it at the end of April in USA. I know it’s been a while and I am eagerly waiting to serve you both the dishes.” (sic)


Directed and written by Srinivas Avasarala, Phalana Abbai Phalana Ammai also sees Malavika Nair in the lead role. Nootokka Jillala Andagadu on the other hand is directed by debutant Sagar and will see Srinivas Avasarala and Ruhani Sharma in lead roles. Further details are awaited.
