2022 turned out to be a great year for Samantha Ruth Prabhu on the work front. The actress delivered a blockbuster hit, Yashoda, at the box office. It has reportedly collected over Rs 25 crore in the worldwide box office.
The action-thriller 'Yashoda,' which was released on November 11, will soon be available for streaming on an OTT platform. The film will be available from December 9. Directed by Hari-Harish, the movie starred Samantha as an aspirant cop who is on a mission to unravel the mysterious missing cases of women. The OTT release date was revealed by a post from the social media handle of the streaming giant itself.
'Yashoda' has music by Mani Sharma. Apart from featuring Samantha in the lead, the film also stars actors Unni Mukundan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Sampath Raj, Shatru and Divya Sripada, among others. M Sukumar was on board as the cinematographer, while Marthand K Venkatesh handled the editing for the venture.
Meanwhile Samantha, who is collaborating with Telugu, Hindi as well as English directors, has a number of films in her pipeline. She is currently working on the Telugu film 'Kushi,' where she will be sharing the screen with Vijay Deverakonda. The movie is likely to hit the big screens next year. Sam also awaits the release of Gunasekhar’s mythological drama 'Shaakuntalam.' The makers of 'Shaakuntalam' had recently postponed the theatrical release of film due to delay in the post production.
