in 2018, fans have been waiting for news of his second film
Maha Samudram
with
Sharwanand.
Talking to Hyderabad Times, director Ajay says, “I am on cloud-nine that the film is finally announced. I made the conscious decision of waiting for two long years for this, despite getting many other offers. I was particular that Maha Samudram will be my second film and I’m glad I waited.”
On Monday, it was officially announced that Ajay’s next will star Sharwanand, even if news of this has been making rounds since the last two years. Sharwanand, who was last seen in
Ranarangam
and Jaanu is touted to play an intense and strong character in his next film. The actor is apparently excited for his next and can’t wait to show the audience what’s in store.
“The film is an intense tale which will be a derivation from the usual commercial films. Sharwanand is such a perfect fit for the role he plays. I approached him because he’s more than just a star, he’s a great actor. He has no qualms about how many fights or songs the film has, as long as it has a great story. Maha Samudram will explore numerous characters and take you along on their journey,” says Ajay, adding, “We will reveal rest of the cast over the next few weeks.”
What’s exciting is that the film is a
bi-lingual
project, which will release not just in Telugu but Tamil too. The filmmakers have been teasing the
announcement
since the last few days, complete with a GIF of the sea. The film will be bankrolled by AK Entertainments, whose last film was Sarileru Neekevvaru. “Like many know RX 100 was watched and is being made in numerous other languages. The story of my next film is also such that I believed both the Telugu and Tamil audience will like it,” states Ajay.
Curious, we ask if they will begin filming soon. “Shoot for the film will commence in November in Hyderabad, but that schedule will not have Sharwa. He will join
shoot
in December. The film’s story is set in Vizag so we’re still looking for places to shoot the film at,” he says, rounding off.
