Vijay is a massive superstar in Tamil Nadu with a humongous fan following. He leads in all quarters, be it ticket sales, records or social media numbers. Compared to his contemporaries like Suriya and Karthi, the 46-year-old actor arrived late to Tollywood with the dubbed versions of his respective Tamil films. However, most of his films in recent years like Master, Thuppakki, Policeodu, Adirindhi, Sarkar and Whistle performed exceedingly well in the Telugu states.

Dil Raju will reportedly bankroll the big-budget project on a large scale. Sources suggest that Vijay was mighty impressed with the script narrated by Vamshi and gave a nod. However, there is no authenticity on this news as of now.
In February, it was widely speculated that Vijay received a huge advance from Mythri Movie Makers for their future collaboration. The reputed production house is currently bankrolling big-ticket films like Pushpa and Sarkaru Vaari Paata.
On the work front, Vijay headed to Georgia in the second week of April and finished the maiden schedule of his upcoming film popularly referred to as
Thalapathy 65
. Bankrolled by Sun Pictures, the Nelson Dilipkumar directorial will feature
Pooja Hegde as the leading lady with
Anirudh Ravichander composing the music.
