Srirastu Subhamastu
, produced by Allu Aravind under Geetha Arts, which releases today. But it seems like the co-stars have known each other pulling each others legs rather forever. A journalism graduate, Sirish was two years senior to Lavanya, who studied Economics something he loves to tease her about. My posts are a reflection that i studied journalism. Your tweets make it seem like you didnt even study. You post memes, cat videos, baby pics, Sirish tells Lavanya, who retorts: Very funny! FYI, I do write about economics and other stuff that interests me on my personal profile! Excerpts from an interview with this funny duo.
The trailers show you two mocking each other. That mustve been easy to do... Lavanya: (Laughs) It was difficult because we couldnt fight as much as we liked to. Sirish: Lavanya threw a lot of attitude initially (smirks). But the funny guy that I am, I helped break the ice. Lavanya: I didnt have any attitude, okay? Sirish: Ya, ya I know. Thats why director had to always tell you to get into the mood before a shot. Lavanya: Stop it, okay? I was shooting for Soggade in which I was playing a married woman. So it was a big shift.
So, whats your role in this film? Lavanya: I play what youd call a girl-next-door. I dont really like that stereotype though. You could have a hot girl living next door, you know? Sirish: Then shed be called something else. The term is used to define a certain kind of girl. In the film The Girl Next Door, the hero has a porn star, living next door. Lavanya: It is too much of a generalisation. Your neighbour could be anyone, right? Duh! I dont have the energy to argue with you!
Sirish, whats your character like in the film? Lavanya: It is less... (giggles) Sirish: I play this rich brat who falls in love with this girl annoys her, teases her not to point of stalking though. Wow, wait! I just got that joke! Character-less. See, her iokes are like that! You take time to understand them.
Lavanya, you mustve enjoyed doing the scene where you kick Sirish in the back... Sirish: Shed kick me so delicately, that Id not even know when to fall. So I gave her a freehand, and looks like she enjoyed it. Lavanya: I dont like to hurt people. I didnt kick you that hard also! Sirish: Agreed, but she did
What can the audience look forward to in Srirastu Subhamastu? Sirish: The film isnt a boy-meets-girl kind of story. It has layers to it. Theres an interesting conflict which makes it different from any other film of the same genre. Lavanya: Yes, and the characters are very well-written. Its a film that will make you feel good when you watch it.
