Maruthi, who is gearing up for the release of Prabhas's ‘The Raja Saab’, has reacted to the comment. Here’s what he had to say.
Director Maruthi shares his view
As per a report by Mid-Day, Maruthi was promoting ‘The RajaSaab’ in Hyderabad when he was asked about Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s statement. Instead of giving a direct “yes” or “no”, Maruthi chose a different way to explain his view. He called Prabhas a “pan-world star.”
“I feel he is a global star, not just pan-India,” Maruthi said. He explained that Prabhas is loved by people across the world. He mentioned Japan as a strong example. “In Japan, he has many fans. People really love him there,” he added. According to Maruthi, Prabhas attracts love because of his heart and nature.

Talking about The RajaSaab, Maruthi admitted that he feels pressure. He said the pressure is not just because of the film, but also because it stars a huge superstar like Prabhas. “Of course, the pressure will be there. I can’t say there is no pressure,” he said.
However, Maruthi sounded confident about the film. He said he has seen the final output and is very happy with it.
“When audiences watch the film, they will see a completely different world,” he said.
Earlier, Sandeep Reddy Vanga had used the title “Superstar” for Ranbir Kapoor in ‘Animal’. So, calling Prabhas India’s biggest superstar led to fresh fan wars. Social media was filled with comparisons and arguments.
