Tollywood actor Krishnudu nabbed by Hyderabad police while playing poker; arrested for gambling

actor Krishnudu, of Vinayakudu fame, was arrested for gambling by city

in

Miyapur

on Friday night.

The

actor

was allegedly playing

poker

with his friends at a villa near Miyapur and was caught red-handed by the cops. Him and seven others, including organiser Paddi Raju, were arrested. Based on a tip, Miyapur police arrested eight members at midnight and registered a case under the Public Gaming Act. They planned to catch them

, registered a case and let them go after getting

bail

. Reports state that the actor is expected to get back to the police station on Saturday for further investigation of the case.

“Actor Krishnudu had attended a function along with a group of friends on Friday night and started gambling at the premises. We received a call from one of the people who were there at the function, who informed us that illegal gambling activity was taking place. We immediately went and arrested them. We registered a case under the Telangana Public Gaming Act. In addition to this, we also seized Rs 2 lakh cash and eight mobile phones,” says Ravi Kiran, sub-inspector, Miyapur Police Station.

This is not Krishnudu’s first brush with

law

. Last year a complaint was registered at Panjagutta police station by a 45-year-old woman who accused him of sexually abusing her years ago. She in fact stated several TV anchors, reporters, advocates, physicians and student leaders in the list of 139 people who have abused her. Pradeep Machiraju’s name was also on the list. The issue died down after everyone involved, including Krishnudu denied these allegations.

Krishnudu is known for his roles in films like Oye!, Happy Days, Mr Perfect and more. He was last seen in the 2019 film Hulchul in a supporting role.
