Tollywood’s ‘Narsing anna’ leaves behind a remarkable comic legacy

Few actors have the ability to make people laugh even while they’re getting beaten up onscreen. Maila Narsing Yadav was one of them.
The veteran actor passed away on Thursday due to kidney failure. He was 57. Narsing, who had a long history of kidney ailments, had been in a coma since April 9. According to hospital sources, his condition deteriorated in the last couple days and he finally succumbed to his illness.Narsing, who is survived by wife Chitra and son Ruthvik Yadav, was cremated amid close family members on Friday.
Lovingly called as Narsing anna by those who knew him, the actor made his debut in Hema Hemeelu, which was directed by the late Vijay Nirmala. With his distinct Telangana diction and a goofy comic timing, Narsing rose through the ranks and featured in more than 300 films including blockusters like Money Money, Gaayam, Tagore and Pokiri.

Among his most memorable roles is the 2005 film Anukokunda Oka Roju, where he played an award-winning theatre artiste known for playing Duryodhana and looking to make his mark in films. He also impressed as the goon from Kshana Kshanam who asks where the girl in ‘pink shirt and blue skirt’ went to — a dialogue that still leaves viewers in splits. He was last seen in the Chiranjeevi-starrer Khaidi No 150, in 2017.

Several cinema lovers and well-wishers paid tribute to the veteran actor on social media.
