Before Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, here are the top 5 highest-grossers of Allu Arjun

Stylish Star Allu Arjun’s latest outing Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is unstoppable at the global box-office. After surpassing most of the non-Baahubali records in the Telugu states, the family entertainer has accumulated a worldwide gross of over 220 crore in two weeks of its theatrical run. Besides emerging as the 8th south Indian film to cross $3 million in the United States, the Pooja Hegde starrer sealed a place in the top 5 highest-grossing Telugu films of all time.

After hits like Julayi and S/O Satyamurthy, the successful duo of Bunny and Trivikram has presented an absorbing and entertaining family drama which despite having a cliché and predictable storyline managed to entertain. Enjoying the stupendous success at the moment, Allu Arjun will team up with versatile director Sukumar for his next film. Touted to be a rustic actioner, the film will feature Rashmika Mandanna as the leading lady. Meanwhile, check out the top 5 highest-grossing films of the 36-year-old actor. Duvvada Jagannadham – approx. Rs 115 crore

After hitting the bull’s eye with Sarrainodu, Allu Arjun has teamed up with Harish Shankar for Duvvada Jagannadham, a vigilante action-comedy starring the gorgeous Pooja Hegde as the leading lady. Despite bagging mixed reactions from critics, the masala film entertained the audience with the dual avatars of the protagonist, bikini avatar of the heroine and foot-tapping numbers like Seeti Maar which created a rage in the theaters. In its full run, the Devi Sri Prasad musical accumulated a worldwide gross of approx. Rs 115 crore.

Sarrainodu – approx. Rs 127 crore

Boyapati Srinu succeeded in bringing out the aggressive side of Bunny in the 2016 high-octane actioner Sarrainodu. Starring Rakul Preet Singh and Catherine Tresa as the leading ladies, the film ended up as a major commercial success at the global box-office. While Allu Arjun stole the show with his dynamic act, Aadhi Pinisetty looked menacing as the antagonist. Besides the peppy numbers, the action sequences in the film worked well with the viewers. Sarrainodu grossed a worldwide gross of approx. Rs 127 crore in its full run.

S/O Satyamurthy – approx. Rs 90 crore

Allu Arjun teamed up with Samantha Akkineni for the first time in S/O Satyamurthy. Starring an ensemble star cast like Sree Vishnu, Nithya Menen, Sneha and Kannada star Upendra in pivotal roles, the Trivikram directorial connected well with both the Telugu and Malayalam audience owing to the emotional plot, meaningful dialogues, beautiful songs and the terrific performances from the cast. In its full run, S/O Satyamurthy grossed a total of approx. Rs 90 crore.

Race Gurram – approx. Rs 59 crore

Race Gurram registered a stupendous victory in 2014 by grossing a worldwide total of approx. Rs 59 crore. Starring Shruti Haasan as the leading lady, the Surender Reddy directorial struck the right chord with the masses with its comedy quotient, action sequences and the foot-tapping numbers composed by Devi Sri Prasad. Allu Arjun shouldered the film with his remarkable performance and killer dance moves.

Julayi – approx. Rs 40 crore

Julayi marked the first collaboration between Allu Arjun and Trivikram Srinivas, and the duo didn’t disappoint. Revolving around a bank robbery, the action-comedy connected with the audience big time owing to the engaging narration, commercial elements and the terrific performances of seasoned actors like Kota Srinivasa Rao, Sonu Sood, Rajendra Prasad and Brahmanandam. Starring the sexy Ileana D'Cruz as the female lead, the Devi Sri Prasad musical grossed a worldwide total of approx. Rs 40 crore.
