Trinadha Rao Nakkina publicly apologises to Anshu Ambani for his sexually coated remarks: 'I made those comments in jest, hoping to make everyone laugh'

Director Trinadha Rao Nakkina has publicly apologised for his body-shaming remarks aimed at actor Anshu Ambani during the teaser launch of their upcoming film, ‘Mazaka’. The comments, which sparked significant backlash, were later described by the filmmaker as “unfortunate” and unintended to offend.

Actor Sundeep Kishan, who will play the lead role in ‘Mazaka’, took to his official X handle (formerly Twitter) to share the video with a caption: “Yesterday was an unfortunate slip of the tongue by Dir #NakkinaTrinadhRao. It’s a wrong example to set & we should have been cautious to avoid it. Trinadh garu & Team #Mazaka apologise for the poor choice of words to Anshu garu & to all women out there. We are because of you ♥️.”

In the video, Trinadha addressed the controversy, acknowledging the discomfort his remarks caused. “I came to know that several women were uncomfortable with my statements made during the teaser launch of Mazaka. I call it unfortunate, as they were not planned,” he said.

The director further explained, “I made those comments in jest, hoping to make everyone laugh. However, if these remarks have hurt you, this is my mistake. I would like to issue a heartfelt apology, as they were objectionable. I will also personally apologise to Anshu. I didn’t realise this would become such a significant issue.”

The incident occurred during the teaser launch, where Trinadha made remarks about Anshu’s appearance, referring to her role in ‘Manmadhudu’ and her current physique. He compared her to a laddu (sweet snack) and commented on her body transformation over the years. This is not the first time Trinadha Rao has faced criticism for inappropriate behaviour. In 2024, he reportedly made actor Payal Radhakrishna uncomfortable during an event by repeatedly requesting a hug, despite her clear non-verbal refusals.
