'Ustaad Bhagat Singh' box office collections day 3: Pawan Kalyan and Raashii Khanna film mints Rs 71.67 cr worldwide
Pawan Kalyan's 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh' is off to a strong start, crossing Rs 70 crore worldwide in its opening weekend. Despite a festive Ugadi release boosting initial numbers, audience reactions are divided, with some praising its mass appeal and others finding it outdated.
'Ustaad Bhagat Singh', starring Pawan Kalyan, continues its steady run at the box office. The action entertainer collected Rs 9.15 crore net on Day 3 across 3,340 shows. The Telugu version alone contributed Rs 9.15 crore on Sunday, with an occupancy rate of around 36% as reported by the Sacnilk website.

The film has comfortably crossed the Rs 70 crore milestone within its opening weekend.'Ustaad Bhagat Singh' box office collections Day 4: Pawan Kalyan and Raashii Khanna starrer crosses Rs 81 crore on debut weekend

Ugadi release boosts opening weekend

The film hit theatres on March 19 coinciding with Ugadi. The festive release played a main role in drawing large crowds during the opening days.

Mixed reviews for the film

While the box office numbers remain solid audience reactions online have been divided. One comment read, "A Completely Outdated Commercial Entertainer! A commercial film like this doesn’t necessarily need out of the box writing, but it atleast needs some freshness. This one feels outdated to the core from the start to end. A few elevation blocks work, but the film lacks flow, feeling like a stitched together compilation of commercial scenes.
Harish Shankar falters on both comedy and commercial writing. Thaman tries to elevate with his BGM but has little scope. PK tries in parts, but this one misses his trademark energy."At the same time, others appreciated the film’s mass entertainment value. Another user wrote, "#UstaadBhagatSingh - A satisfying, mass-romantic action entertainer. While the story follows a familiar path, the director deserves credit for keeping the audience engaged throughout."The strong opening weekend has given it a good foundation. However, the real test begins now, as word-of-mouth is mixed. The film also has Raashii Khanna, Sreeleela, and R. Parthiban in key roles and the impressive initial collections are mainly due to Pawan Kalyan's stardom.

Pawan Kalyan's 'They Call Him OG' Surpasses 'Pushpa 2' At Box Office
On the other hand, Pawan Kalyan's previous film was 'OG' which received decent reviews from fans and critics. ETimes review for 'OG' read, "Japanese actor Kazuki Kitamura’s brief but memorable cameo hints at bigger things ahead, keeping fans curious for the sequel. Sriya Reddy delivers a solid performance, while Priyanka Arul Mohan’s Kanmani feels underwritten. Prakash Raj, as Satya Dada, brings authority and intensity, especially in his dynamic with OG. Arjun Das too leaves an impression. Director Sujeeth leans heavily on star power, often at the cost of layered storytelling and character arcs. Several subplots are undercooked, and familiar tropes such as the wife’s murder and the daughter’s kidnapping feel formulaic. Thaman’s rousing soundtrack, however, injects energy into the action sequences. The film has its shortcomings in emotional depth and narrative finesse, but it still succeeds as a stylish action drama with flair."DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers and the data in this article are compiled from diverse public and industry sources.
