Vedhika Kumar stunned the viewers with her magnificent portrayal of Subha Lakshmi in Chaitanya Dantuluri’s ‘Baanam’. The 2009 action-drama showcased the young actress as an innocent Brahmin girl abandoned by her in-laws owing to insufficient dowry. Besides grabbing the eyeballs of many, she was unanimously praised for her solid emoting skills and captivating screen-presence.
After a brief break to films, Vedhika returned to the celluloid in a never-seen-before avatar for director Bala’s National Award-winning ‘Paradesi’. With no make-up throughout the film, the 31-year-old actress played the role of a village belle to perfection and excelled in the heart-tearing climax. Presently busy with a pipeline of films in Kannada, Malayalam and Tamil, Vedhika is staging a comeback to Tollywood after eight years with a bilingual film directed by debutante Karthik Vignesh.
