‘Varanasi’: SS Rajamouli team kicks off one-year countdown with fun online banter

SS Rajamouli’s upcoming globetrotter starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumar in the lead is currently in the shooting phase. With the magnum opus is set to hit on April 7 next year in 2027, leaving a year to film on the big screens. Recently, the makers shared a message that led to a fun interaction between the team and the fans online.

‘Varanasi’ cast

In ‘Varanasi’, Mahesh Babu plays Rudra. In his intro, he is seen riding a bull and holding a trident. A big asteroid can also be seen coming towards Earth in the scene. Priyanka Chopra Jonas plays Mandakini. She is seen in a yellow saree and holds a gun. This film is her big return to Indian cinema. Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the villain Kumbha. Budget of film ‘Varanasi’

The film is said to have been made on a very big budget of around Rs 1400 crore. The team has built a huge set in Hyderabad. It is around 700 by 400 feet. The set looks like the real city of Varanasi. Famous places like ghats and Ratneshwar Mahadev Temple are recreated.
