Here are five of his films that display his genius

Venu Thottempudi is one such star of Tollywood who has often experimented with his roles during the past decade. Starting off his career with boy-next-door characters, The Ongole native went on to enthral the audience with his varied choice of roles and scripts. Venu is celebrating his birthday today on June 4, and wishes poured in on social media from the members of the film fraternity and fans. On his 45th birthday, Venu in his career spanning over 15 years, the Chiru Navvuto actor has also appeared in some great and critically acclaimed films. Here are five of his films that display his genius.

Swayamvaram

Swayamvaram (1999), Venu Thottempudi’s debut film with director K Vijaya Bhaskar and writer Trivikram Srinivas, has won two Nandi Awards Best Music Director (Vandemataram Srinivas) and Best Female Playback Singer (KS Chitra). Venu was praised for his brilliant performance and won the Nandi Special Jury Award. The film was the debut of Trivikram as a screenwriter.

Chiru Navvuto

Venu Thottempudi and Trivikram Srinivas teamed up for another romantic comedy entertainer, Chiru Navvuto, a year later. G Ram Prasad directed the film. Venu played the character of a chef whose, sister-in-law eloped with someone else. His decent personality and characterisation were very well appreciated by the audiences.

Hanuman Junction

In Hanuman Junction, Venu played the character of AjaataSathru, who falls in love with the sister of two gangsters. In order to marry her, he must convince her brothers and thus decides to join their company. His is overall performance was widely appreciated by audiences and critics.

Kalyana Ramudu

Venu played a wedding planner Ramu who falls in love with the bride’s sister gets rejected by her father as whoever marries him dies young. Directed by G Ram Prasad, the film became a huge success, and the credit goes to Venu. His acting skill always makes the audiences speechless.

Cheppave Chirugali

This was an emotional comedy-drama, which starred Venu Thottempudi, Ashima Bhalla and Abhirami in the lead roles. In this film, Venu was seen as a hotel receptionist who helps a girl and her family financially for a few years plans to marry her. When another wealthy man takes an interest in the young girl, she decides to leave him. Venu was very well captured the heart and attention of his audiences not just by his looks but with his acting skills.
