Released in 2000, ''Jayam Mandera'' is an action entertainer that deals with the caste system in society. It revolves around a village head Mahadeva Naidu who extends his generous support to Dalit solidarity challenges the norms like
caste-based discrimination
. He is killed by his opponents and his son Abhiram grew up in aboard. The story takes turn when Abhiam arrives in India to get marry his lady love Uma. There he is attacked by the goons who killed his father. How Abhiram takes revenge against them forms the crux of the story.
Directed by N Shankar, ''Jayam Manadera'' addresses many social issues beyond casteism such as
Dalits' entry into temples
and religious differences. The film has gone on to become one of the director and actor's most popular works. The movie also featured Bhanupriya, Jaya Prakash Reddy, Atul Kulkarni, Jhansi, Brahmanandam, Ali, Tanikella Bharani, MS Narayana, AVS, Ahuti Prasad, Raja Ravindra and others. It was produced by D Suresh Babu under Suresh Productions banner. Vandemataram Srinivas’ music was another asset for Jayam Mandera.
