It’s already evident that Bollywood actress Ananya Panday is making her debut in Telugu cinema with the upcoming pan-Indian project ‘Fighter’. Starring Vijay Deverakonda as the protagonist, the maiden schedule of the Puri Jagannadh directorial was shot in Mumbai during the early months of 2020. Due to COVID-19 and the subsequent lockdown in the country, the shooting has been temporarily put on hold. Touted to be sports-drama, Fighter is presented by Karan Johar in Hindi through his Dharma Productions and the cast comprises of Ramya Krishnan and Ronit Roy.

While most celebrities are enjoying the lockdown period by spending quality time at their homes, Ananya Panday is badly missing her work. During a recent interaction with Filmfare, the 21-year-old actress said “It’s a very different time and a surreal feeling for me, because ever since I’ve started shooting, I’ve never stayed at home for this long. I’ve been working back-to-back and never got this long a break.” She added, “I would take a break from work for not more than three days. But now, it has been more than a week.”

Ananya Panday was born to popular Bollywood actor Chunky Panday in 1998. Right from her high school itself, she was quite passionate about stepping foot into films and becoming an actress. In 2017, Ananya made her maiden presence at the elite Bal des Débutantes in Paris and grabbed the eyeballs of many with her stunning avatar. Simply known as le Bal, Bal des Débutantes is a fashion event held annually in November that brings together 20–25 girls aged 16 to 22 from affluent and renowned families.

Ananya Panday made her big Bollywood debut with ‘Student of the Year 2’ in 2019. Starring Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria in lead roles, the teenage romantic-drama failed to strike the right chord at the ticket counters and fell below the benchmark Karan Johar set with the first instalment of the film. However, Ananya managed to create an impression in the typical role of Shreya Randhawa, a spoilt brat. She danced like a dream in all the songs and looked drop-dead gorgeous throughout the film.

During the promotions of her debut film in 2019, Ananya Panday revealed that she chose not to go to the University of Southern California (USC) despite being accepted for a journalism program as she wanted to focus on her acting career. Claiming to be Ananya’s schoolmate, a woman by the name “anieeepeee” on Instagram alleged that the actress had faked her admission to USC and never applied to any university abroad. Clearing the air once and for all, Panday posted a photo of herself with the university letters on Instagram and revealed that she had successfully applied for a major in Communication at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism but postponed her admission twice as she was shooting for her debut film.

Despite failing in the first attempt, Ananya Panday didn’t take long to bag her maiden success in Hindi cinema. Released in the same year of SOTY 2, Pati Patni Aur Woh registered a stupendous victory at the box-office and entertained the masses big-time. The Kartik Aaryan and Bhumi Pednekar starrer worked well with the audience owing to the hilarious comedy and the glamourous treat by Ananya. Presently, the leggy lass is romancing Ishaan Khatter in the Bollywood remake of ‘Taxiwaala’ titled as ‘Khaali Peeli’.
