Netizens have taken to trolling former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag after he tweeted about the recently released film 'Adipurush,' starring
Prabhas. Sehwag's tweet drew a comparison to the blockbuster movie '
Baahubali,' which didn't sit well with some online users.
In his tweet, Sehwag humorously remarked, "After seeing Adipurush, I understood why
Kattappa killed Baahubali." While Sehwag intended it as satire, netizens had mixed reactions, with some supporting his statement and others expressing dissatisfaction.
Some even went as far as trolling him for his comments.
Criticism of 'Adipurush' primarily revolves around the movie's graphics, dialogues, and story. While Prabhas's performance as Rama received praise, the film failed to meet the audience's expectations. Memes mocking the film have surfaced on social media, further fueling the negative sentiment. Additionally, objections were raised against certain dialogues written by Manoj Muntashir, prompting the film unit to make changes.
Directed by Om Raut, 'Adipurush' features Kriti Sanon as Sita and Saif Ali Khan as Ravana. The attire and graphics used for the portrayal of Ravana have faced significant criticism. Despite the backlash, the film's unit has defended their choices.
Upon its release on June 16th, 'Adipurush' garnered huge collections in the first three days, surpassing the Rs.300 crore mark. However, the film's collections have gradually decreased since then. Overall, 'Adipurush' has managed to amass over Rs.400 crore in box office earnings. Notably, the Telugu version alone has collected more than Rs.100 crore.
