Vishnu Manchu’s highly anticipated mythological drama, 'Kannappa', has recently revealed the poster of its fearsome antagonist, Kala Mukha played by Arpit Ranka. Directed by Mukesh Singh, the film introduces audiences to a world in ancient lore, where gods, warriors, and mythical beings clash in a battle of epic proportions.
Arpit Ranka, known for his commanding screen presence, steps into the role of Kala Mukha, a character defined by his ruthless pursuit of power. The newly released poster of Kala Mukha offers a glimpse into the dark and dangerous world he inhabits. Depicted with a fierce expression, gripping weapons in both hands, Kala Mukha is seen seated atop the bodies of his victims, with an aura of unstoppable menace. The background teems with more warriors.
The makers of the film sharing the poster wrote, "Arpit Ranka as 'Kala Mukha' is a force of devastation, with a single goal in mind-possession of the 'Vayu Lingam'. His bloodlust leaves nothing but destruction in his wake, wiping out forests and warriors alike."
Kala Mukha’s obsession is with the Vayu Lingam, a powerful and mystical artefact that seems central to the film's narrative. His thirst for this object of power is portrayed as unquenchable, driving him to raze forests and massacre anyone who stands in his way. The poster suggests that his ultimate goal is to seize the Vayu Lingam from its place of origin.
'Kannappa' is also expected to portray the journey of a simple hunter who, through his unyielding devotion to Lord Shiva, transforms into a fearless warrior and ultimately attains sainthood. The film promises to explore Kannappa’s evolution from a mortal man into a revered figure, earning him the title of Nayanar, a celebrated devotee of Shiva.
The cast of the film includes Mohanlal, Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, Mohan Babu, Sarathkumar, Brahmanandam, and Kajal Aggarwal are all part of the star-studded cast. Akshay Kumar takes on the divine role of Lord Shiva, while Prabhas is set to make a special appearance in a yet-to-be-revealed character. The musical score is given by Mani Sharma.
The movie is expected to be released in December and will be available in multiple languages.
