Col Santosh’s

last rites

took place on Thursday as many shops and establishments reportedly remained closed in Telangana as a mark of respect. His wife, daughter and son mourned the loss of the

soldier

who was one of the twenty martyred during clashes with

Chinese

troops in Galwan Valley.

Revealing the reason for his visit and paying condolences to the family, Vishwak Sen wrote, “The least I could do for this mom is to pay her a visit, offer my condolences and thank her for the sacrifice of our Santhosh Babu. My heart bleeds to even imagine what she is going through. Let’s pray that our soldiers’ families find the strength to get through the loss. #jaihind #jaijawan.” (sic)


In a video shared by his spokesperson, Vishwak Sen says, “The sacrifice made by him is not just for Telangana but the whole country. I wanted to personally come here to thank this mother and wanted to express my gratitude in person. We all need to have gratitude towards the Indian Army.” He adds, “We are not understanding the situation we’re in and I didn’t know how else to show gratitude other than by meeting them.” He even interacted with the family who revealed that he was a huge movie buff and would always predict how situations would turn out in thriller films.
