We take precautions on sets, but it’s still a risk to shoot amid the pandemic: Aadi Saikumar

actor Aadi Saikumar

got to put on the greasepaint again after nearly five months of lockdown when he joined the sets of his upcoming film Black, directed by GB Krishna. The actor confesses that he was extremely nervous about going back to sets and agreed to shoot only after the producer convinced him that all precautions were in place.

“We decided to resume shoot only after the whole cast and crew tested negative for Covid-19. I was extremely tense on the first day of shoot but calmed down once I saw the safety measures in place,” shares Aadi.

The film shoot is taking place at an aluminium factory in the city. The location has been completely sanitised and temperature of the crew is being monitored constantly. “Since we’re shooting indoors, everybody is conscious of maintaining social distancing. kits. Precautions are being taken, but you can’t help thinking that it’s still a risk we’re taking to complete this film,” says the Operation Gold Fish star.

Aadi’s biggest worry is that he might expose his wife, Aruna and three-year-old daughter,

, to the virus. “This was supposed to be a five-day schedule but it was extended by three more days because we’re shooting with a small crew. Thank-fully, our next schedule is set to take place outdoors, so I feel slightly safer, but I worry about my family all the time that I’m out there,” he says, adding, “When I go home, I sleep in a separate room and make sure I don’t come in contact with my wife and daughter. I decided to go ahead because it was halted midway and we had very little shoot left. But I want to make sure I don’t expose my family to Covid-19.”
