When Jr NTR revealed reason for silly fights with wife Lakshmi Pranathi at home; 'There is no compromise'

N. T. Rama Rao Jr., popularly known as Jr NTR, is one of the biggest stars in Telugu cinema and while fans admire him for his powerful performances on screen, his personal life has also often attracted attention.

The actor’s marriage to Lakshmi Pranathi was widely discussed when it took place and their wedding became one of the most talked-about celebrity events in the South Indian film industry at the time.

Marriage that began as an arranged match

According to Bollywood Shaadis, Jr NTR and Lakshmi Pranathi tied the knot on May 5, 2011 in Hyderabad and their marriage was arranged by their families.



Interestingly, the two hardly knew each other before the wedding. They were not even aware of each other’s presence before their families decided to bring them together. At the time of their marriage, Jr NTR was 28 years old, while Pranathi was 19. Because of the age gap, it took some time for them to adjust to married life. Their relationship grew stronger over the years and they became one of the most loved couples in the industry.

Over the years, the couple has maintained a relatively private life. However, Jr NTR sometimes shares glimpses of their relationship during some interviews.

One such moment came when the actor spoke about the small and funny disagreements he has with his wife at home.

Jr NTR reveals reason behind silly fights

In an episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show in 2024, Jr NTR spoke about the silly and playful arguments with his wife. Actor Archana Puran Singh asked him what causes the silly fights between him and Pranathi at home. The actor revealed that the reason is surprisingly simple — the air conditioner.

The 'War 2' actor said, “There is no compromise. But I win because my wife is extremely sweet.”

Jr NTR explained that while he does not always compromise on certain small issues, his wife’s sweet nature usually brings the situation to a happy end.

Lakshmi Pranathi is ‘The anchor’ of his life

In an earlier interview with Deccan Chronicle, N. T. Rama Rao Jr. spoke lovingly about his wife and the role she plays in his life. He said, “She (Lakshmi Rao) has played a vital part in changing me into what I am now. I really do feel special being married to this wonderful woman. She has done a lot for me, and she is my anchor after my mum in my house, and that's the other reason for me to stay at home. I am very cozy at home and I never really feel this need to go out.”

Family life and upcoming film

N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Lakshmi Pranathi are parents to two sons. Their first child, Abhay Ram, was born in 2014, followed by their second son Bhargav Ram in 2018.

On the professional front, Jr NTR was last seen in the spy universe film 'War 2' which received mixed reviews.
