When Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s father Joseph Prabhu revealed why he never wanted to be seen with her in public

Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s father, Joseph Prabhu, breathed his last yesterday (November 29), and the actress shared a heartbreaking post confirming the news. She shared a note, “Until we meet again, Dad,” along with a broken heart emoji. Samantha’s father was never seen in public with her, and he once revealed why he disliked being spotted with his daughter.


Samantha Ruth Prabhu, born in Chennai to Joseph and Ninette Prabhu, grew up in a loving family with her two elder brothers, Jonathan and David. While Samantha became a popular star, her father, Joseph, preferred to stay out of the public eye. In 2023, when a fan asked on Facebook why he wasn’t seen with Samantha at events, Joseph candidly replied, “I don’t like to be seen with celebs.”



Joseph once reacted to his daughter Samantha’s divorce from her ex-husband Naga Chaitanya in 2021. He shared a throwback picture of Chay and Samantha from their wedding and wrote, “Long, long ago, there was a story. And it doesn’t exist anymore!! So, let’s start a new story and a new chapter.”


Samantha Ruth Prabhu shared the screen with Naga Chaitanya in 'Ye Maaya Chesave' in 2010. The duo dated for a few years and tied the knot in 2017. Their divorce in 2021 broke many hearts, and within a year, Samantha was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, Myositis. Samantha made a comeback with the new action web series 'Citadel: Honey Bunny' with Varun Dhawan this month. The series in an Indian spin-off of the American series 'Citadel'. In the spy series she played an intense role as an agent where she gave an impactful performance with her character name "Honey".


At the same time, Naga Chaitanya began dating actress Sobhita Dhulipala and got engaged to her in an intimate ceremony on August 8. The duo started their pre-wedding festivities yesterday by sharing glimpses of their Haldi ceremony. They will tie the knot on December 4.
