Will Jr NTR play Dadasaheb Phalke in his biopic by SS Rajamouli? here's what We know

Jr NTR is set to headline 'Made In India', a biographical epic inspired by the life and legacy of Dadasaheb Phalke, the pioneer known as the ‘Father of Indian Cinema’. The project, originally unveiled in September 2023 by filmmaker SS Rajamouli, is being jointly produced by Varun Gupta and Rajamouli's son, SS Karthikeya.


About Made In India
According to Pinkvilla, the film—touted as a pan-India release—has been in the scripting stage since its announcement. Rajamouli, Karthikeya, and Gupta have finalised the script after months of detailed research and writing.



The trio recently presented the final draft to the RRR actor, who was reportedly impressed with the narrative and promptly agreed to be a part of the film. The actor was particularly intrigued by the lesser-known details about Dadasaheb Phalke. “The story chronicles the birth and rise of Indian cinema, and NTR was surprised by the level of detailing. He is excited to portray the Father of Indian Cinema on the big screen,” the source shared. Although the actor has given an informal nod, official agreements are still pending.

Jr NTR's role in the movie


Currently, Jr NTR is working on his next action film with director Prashanth Neel and will soon begin shooting for another project helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar. “Made In India will also give Jr NTR a chance to step away from the action genre and try something that has never been done before,” the source concluded.


Work front of the actor


Jr NTR, along with SS Rajamouli and Ram Charan, recently visited London for the grand screening of their 2022 hit 'RRR'. He is now gearing up for the release of 'War 2' in August and will also return with 'Devara: Part 2'.
