The movie is getting a sequel, 'Yatra 2,' starring Jiiva and superstar Mammootty in the lead role. Directed by Mahi V Raghav, the movie is set to release on February 8, 2024. Mammootty has shared an update about 'Yatra 2' on his Twitter account.
Mammootty shared the poster of 'Yatra 2' and announced that the much-awaited trailer of 'Yatra 2' will be released on February 3, 2024, at 11 AM. The actor exhorted people to join the movement and witness the rise of their beloved leader. In this movie, actor Jiiva is set to play Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. In the prequel, Mollywood superstar Mammootty portrayed the character of YS Rajasekhara Reddy. His depiction of the politician was widely acknowledged and well-reviewed.
On the work front, Mammootty will be next seen in Rahul Sadasivan’s ‘Bramayugam,’ set to hit theaters on February 15, 2024. The movie stars Arjun Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan, and Manikandan R Achari.
In a recent interview, Jiiva said that Mammootty has helped him pull off this character of a politician. The actor was initially concerned about the consequences of playing such a role, but Mammootty advised him to stick to the art of acting and not worry about the politics.
