RGV reveals how he came up with the story of Nagarjuna starrer 'Officer' amidst allegations by writer P Jaya Kumar that he stole the story

’ seems to be running into constant bumps, what with first the Bombay HC almost halting its release and later, the director having to postpone the release of the film.

He wrote on his social media, “Since many technical elements of #Officer with regard to the best viewing experience are taking much longer than initially planned, we decided to postpone Akkineni Nagarjuna’s Officer release from 25th May to 1st June” (sic) Now, writer

of plagiarising his work for Mia Malkova’s ‘GST’, is back again with another accusation.

As of Thursday morning, Jaya Kumar revealed on his social media that it was him who had penned the script of ‘Officer’ too. He leaked the script of the film writing, “My original story script of OFFICER” (sic) He then continued putting up various posts addressed to the lead actor Nagarjuna about all the injustices meted out to him by RGV.

He also urged Nagarjuna to help him get justice as this was not the first time that his script has been plagiarised. He wrote, “My right to write is my own right to exist. But your director is threatening my very existence and killing my career by hijacking my scripts which are a product of my own blood, sweat & tears. Pls understand my loss and save me atleast now.” (sic)

While Nagarjuna has maintained a staunch silence regarding this, not even announcing the postponement of his film, RGV on the other hand responded to the same on his social media, without naming any names. “The Story of Akkineni Nagarjuna ‘s OFFICER is based upon a true life IPS officer K M Prasanna from Karnataka , who was appointed as the chief of a SIT (Special Investigation Team) to investigate a highly reputed cop in Mumbai,” he wrote, adding, “It’s the details that IPS officer K M Prasanna personally told me in 2010 that finally became the story of #Officer. Akkineni Nagarjuna is playing Mr.Prasanna who at present is the Additional Commissioner of Police ,Crime Branch, Mumbai” (sic)

He also revealed, “K M Prasanna does bear an uncanny resemblance to Nagarjuna ..Comparing my personal interactions with both, I observed that they share a very similar demeanour and strength of mind,which I tried to capture in #Officer” (sic) It remains to be seen how the controversy will play out.
