Shailaja Reddy Alludu is a potpourri of romance, dance and comedy: Naga Chaitanya

Nagarjuna

revelled playing the ‘alludu’ (son-in-law for the uninitiated) who tames his haughty mother-in-law in blockbusters like

Allari Alludu

(1993) and

Gharana Bullodu

(1995). Naga Chaitanya is confident that

Shailaja Reddy Alludu

will recreate the same magic at the BO this Vinayaka Chavithi. “This is just the kind of family drama that the Telugu audience will relate to. There are lots of strong headed characters with
giant egos in the film and I play the mediator who tries to broker truce between them all. It’s an out-and-out entertainer,” says the actor, adding, “Dad was really excited when he heard the script. He loves the genre and reckons this film has what it takes to hit the bulls eye at the BO. Expect a fun potpourri of a great love story, hilarious family disputes and endearing human emotions.”
Anu Emannuel plays the leading lady in the film that features Ramya Krishnan as Chai’s mother-in-law, Shailaja Reddy. “The first half of the film revolves around the love track between me and Anu Emmanuel. Unlike other Atta-Alludu films, the tit-for-tat tussle between my mother-in-law (Ramya Krishnan) and me will be the highlight of the second half. Director Maruthi is known for his brand of entertainment, so rest assured there’s plenty to laugh about for the audience,” the actor shares.
Acting with Ramya Krishnan is an experience Chaitanya says, he will cherish for a long time. “I’ve grown up watching her films. I’ve seen Hello Brother about 30 times at least. Initially, I was worried about he prospect of acting with Ramya Krishnan but it was incredible to work with her. My scenes with her are ones to watch out for,” he adds, signing off.
Produced by Naga Vamshi and PDV Prasad, presented by S Radha Krishna (Chinna Babu) under Sithara Entertainments, Shailaja Reddy Alludu releases today.
