The stunning locales of Kashmir added authenticity to Venky Mama
A picture of Naga Chaitanya and director Bobby on horseback, in the snow-laden mountains of Kashmir, has gone viral on social media. The picture has been shot in Sonamarg in Kashmir during the making of their upcoming romcom Venky Mama. Naga Chaitanya plays Kartik, an army officer stationed in Kashmir in the film, and director Bobby says shooting in the valley was surreal.

“The locations in Kashmir are absolutely stunning and it added a whole new dimension to Venky Mama. The military was extremely cooperative and ensured the shoot went smoothly. It wasn’t always easy to travel to our shoot location everyday but our story demanded a location like Kashmir,” says Bobby.
The director says Venky Mama has lot more to offer than just slapstick comedy. “Venky Mama begins and ends with intense scenes shot in Kashmir. The core plot of the film lies in these scenes. I was adamant to cast Prakash Raj in the role of a Brigadier in the film and the way he and Venkatesh complement each other will be a delight to watch,” adds Bobby.
Produced by D Suresh Babu, TG Vishwa Prasad and Vivek Kuchibhotla under Suresh Productions and People Media Factory, Venky Mama is releasing on
December 13.
