Vijay Deverakonda "let down, disappointed and hurt" by 'Geetha Govindam' and 'Taxiwaala' leaks

Vijay Deverakonda was in for an unpleasant surprise last weekend when not just one, but two of his films, leaked online.

’ found their way online. While reports state that an

editor

from Hyderabad and over a dozen

students

from

Guntur

and Hyderabad have been arrested, the damage was done. SKN, producer of ‘Taxiwaala’ took to social media and wrote, “17 students in Guntur & Editor in Hyderbad got arrested for circulating raw footage FEW films under shooting, the editor arrested for data stealing & circulation more arrests gonna happen as Cyber crime police working hard in both states considering this as serious offence.” (sic)

Taking to social media on Saturday night, Vijay Deverakonda wrote, “I feel let down, disappointed, hurt. Okka sari kopam osthundi, inko sari edupostundi.” (sic) Despite the leaks being freely available online, Deverakonda’s fans commented under the post and elsewhere on social media assuring him they would only watch his films in the theatre. Some even ask him to stay strong, giving examples of how similar instances have taken place for Mahesh Babu and Pawan Kalyan’s films in the past too.

Directed by Parasuram, ‘Geetha Govindam’ is slated for release on August 15. The release date of ‘Taxiwaala’ is yet to be announced.
