, vocals by Kailash Kher and lyrics by K Shiva Datta, Dr K Ramakrishna. Releasing the song on his social media along with a picture of the team, singer Kailash Kher wrote, “It is always a pleasure to record a song with the genius @mmkeeravaani garu. After iconic Bahubali another legendary song. My best wishes to the entire team of @NTRBIOPIC #NTRBiopic @DirKrish #sreenidhitirumala #Kathanayaka #NandamuriBalakrishna” (sic)

“First single from NTR -Kathaanaayakudu. A tribute to the one and only Divyasammohana Murthi .. in Mohana Raagam.” (sic) wrote the music director. The 3-minute-36-second number has an old-world charm with Kailash’s vocals and Keeravani’s music working well together. The visuals show the behind-the-scenes of the number’s recording. ‘Kathaa Naayaka’ is a beautiful tribute to the yesteryear star NTR, narrating his inspiring journey. Apart from fans, Telugu film industry too has responded positively to the number.

The two-part biopic,

Kathaanaayakudu

and

Mahanayakudu

, is slated for release on January 9 and 24 in 2019. While Balakrishna will be essaying the titular role of his father and Kalyan Ram that of his father Harikrishna, the film also sees a slew of actors essaying various well-known roles in the film, including Vidya Balan playing the role of Basavatarakam and Rana that of CM Chandrababu Naidu.
