music composer

Anup Rubens remembered his association with him.

numbers, what many don’t realise is that he’s the voice behind some of the best

Tollywood

numbers too. Anup reminisced how he had roped in the singer for his second album,

Dhairyam

. “He sang the number Naa Pranam for me from Teja’s Nithiin and Raima Sen starrer in 2005. Back then, he was already a popular singer and I was just beginning my career, it was only my second film. Unlike most Bollywood singers, I remember thinking his

Telugu

diction was perfect, he would work that hard. But I remember how humble, sweet and warm he was to me. He respected me and never made me feel like a newbie, it made all the difference in the world,” he tells Hyderabad Times.

Anup also calls the singer’s passing ‘heart-breaking’ believing he lost the chance to work with him again. “We were supposed to work on another song together, but now I’m sad it never happened. Ever since I heard the news of KK’s passing, I’ve been in shock. I never imagined he’d pass away so soon, it’s heart-breaking,” he told us. KK had sang numerous Telugu hits through his career and is the man behind songs like Hello Doctor from Prema Desam and Cheliya Cheliya from Gharshana.
