The film has already created a buzz on social media due to the realistic manner the characters have been portrayed and the film has been shot. The film that released in Tamil in February has garnered positive response from critics and audience alike.

As the film is based on the real-life situations a mrudangam maker Thanjavur Johnson has faced, the team of Sarvam Thaala Mayam, along with music legends TM Krishna and Umayalpuram K Sivaraman honoured the maker at a recent screening of the film.
