'Are we gonna be the Gestapo?': Joe Rogan reacts to 'horrific' ICE killing in Minneapolis
Podcaster and UFC commentator Joe Rogan has finally reacted to the brutal and fatal ICE killing of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis. Protests against the incident have been rampant across numerous locations in the US. While the Trump administration has claimed that the ICE agent shot Good in self-defence, footage of the killing has many claiming otherwise.
He also added that he could empathise with anti-ICE protestors who “don’t want militarised people in the streets just roaming around, snatching up people—many of whom turn out to be U.S. citizens that just don’t have their papers on them.”
“Are we really gonna be the Gestapo?” questioned Rogan. “‘Where’s your papers?’ Is that what we’ve come to?” he added.
Rogan claimed the shooting looked "horrific" to him adding, “It’s very ugly to watch someone shoot a U.S. citizen, especially a woman, in the face.”
“When people say it’s justifiable because the car hit him, it seemed like she was kind of turning the car away.”
While Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem quickly jumped to Ross' defence, deeming Good a "domestic terrorist" who "weaponised her vehicle" to intentionally harm the ICE officers around her, eyewitnesses to the incident claim Good was attempting to drive away from the situation.
A video taken by Ross during the incident shows Good's last audible words before her death being, “That’s fine, dude. I’m not mad at you. I’m not mad at you.” Whereas, the ICE agent is believed to have cursed Good as a "f****** b****" after shooting her in the head.
Joe Rogan reacts to the ICE murder
In a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the host was speaking with Republican Senator Rand Paul and taking both sides on the fatal shooting. Rogan said he "sees both perspectives" when it comes to ICE as a law enforcement agency and understanding why ICE raids could be effective to "take away some of the damage" of illegal immigration. He also added that he could empathise with anti-ICE protestors who “don’t want militarised people in the streets just roaming around, snatching up people—many of whom turn out to be U.S. citizens that just don’t have their papers on them.”
