Cockroach Janta Party says ‘attempts’ are being made to hack its Instagram account; founder Abhijeet Dipke shares screenshots

Social media politics is no longer limited to speeches and hashtags. Over the past few days, a relatively new political outfit called the Cockroach Janta Party has become one of the most talked-about names online. From gaining followers rapidly to facing account restrictions and now an alleged hacking attempt, the party’s digital journey has suddenly turned into a major talking point across platforms.

The latest claim came from the founder, Abhijeet Dipke, who said attempts were being made to access the party’s Instagram account. The claim surfaced shortly after the outfit reportedly crossed the follower count of a leading political party on Instagram, leading to heavy discussion online.

Dipke shared a screenshot of a message allegedly sent by Instagram regarding a password reset request. The message read, “Hi abhijeetdipke, Sorry to hear you're having trouble logging into Instagram. We got a message that you forgot your password. If this was you, you can get right back into your account or reset your password now.”

The screenshot also showed two options: “Login as abhijeetdipke” and “Reset your password.”

‘Now attempts being made to hack Instagram’

Sharing the update on X, Dipke wrote, “Now attempts being made to hack Instagram.”

Soon after the post appeared online, several social media users reacted to it and shared their views in the comments section.

One user wrote, “We survive every attack. We are Cockroach.”

Another commented, “How to prevent this? Should we raise our voice on a global platform?”

A third user advised, “Update the password to at least 50 characters and don't tell anyone. Your first priority is to protect all these.”

Another reaction read, “This is seriously so annoying, and my head is in pain seeing the state of our youth!!!”

X account also withheld in India

Before the Instagram claim, the party had already spoken about action taken against its X account in India.

Dipke earlier shared a screenshot and wrote, “As expected, Cockroach Janta Party’s account has been withheld in India.”

The message visible in the screenshot said, “Account withheld. @CJP 2029 has been withheld in IN in response to a legal demand.”

What is Cockroach Janta Party?

According to its official website, the Cockroach Janta Party describes itself as the “voice of the lazy and unemployed”.

The website further says, “A political party for the people the system forgot to count. Five demands. Zero sponsors. One large, stubborn swarm.”

The party has recently gained visibility online because of its growing social media activity and discussions around its messaging.
