Donald Trump's women leaders: All about the Top 10 women shaping his cabinet
As president-elect Donald Trump is set to begin his second innings at the White House, it's heartening to see how his latest administration picks feature an increased representation of women in leadership roles. It is a welcome change and to have one third women in his cabinet, especially considering his past controversies around women and also his history with powerful female opponents like Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi.
Trump’s incoming team includes at least 10 women in key positions. Here's all you want to know about them.
Born on May 14, 1957, Trump’s ‘ice baby’ Susie Wiles is the daughter of Pat Summerall, who was a prominent football player. She was married to Lanny Wiles, a Republican but the couple divorced in 2017. Wiles has two daughters Katie and Caroline.
The former Florida Attorney General is a devoted Trump ally who has defended his policies and decisions publicly. Her legal expertise and loyalty have cemented her as a key player in the administration.
Pam Bondi’s personal life remained in the limelight as she married two times, both of which ended in divorce. She got engaged to ophthalmologist Greg Henderson in 2012.
Linda McMahon is a former administrator of the Small Business Administration, and professional wrestling executive. She married Vince McMahon in 1966 and their relationship has spanned over 50 years. The couple faced numerous relationship challenges. They have two children - Shane and Stephanie.
Tulsi Gabbard, has been named as the director of national intelligence, by President-elect Donald Trump, a position that would see her overseeing 18 intelligence agencies. A former democrat from Hawaii and a self-proclaimed Hindu American, Gabbard is also a Krishna devotee. Tulsi, is fourth of the five children in her family. Her family moved to Hawaii when she was two years old and much of her childhood was spent there. She also spent a year of childhood in the Philippines.
