London’s oldest family Italian chain collapses after seven decades

It is the end of an era for London's dining scene: Spaghetti House, the family-run chain that has been around since the 1950s, has shut down all of its locations. For pasta lovers, this has emerged as sad news for people who love food. Spaghetti House was a part of London for a very long time. For seventy years Spaghetti House served Italian food to people in London. Now the signs with the white colors are coming down for good. The news was posted on the Spaghetti House website. The message was very sad. Spaghetti House said they are sorry that all of their restaurants are now closed. They wanted to thank all of their customers, partners and employees for their support over the years. Spaghetti House said "From Our Family to Yours, Grazie."



Spaghetti House was around for seventy years. The story of Spaghetti House started in 1955 on Goodge Street. The founders, Simone Lavarini and Lorenzo Fraquelli opened the restaurant with a simple idea: to bring real Italian food and hospitality to London after the war. Over time, Spaghetti House got more restaurants in famous places in London. There were five locations left when the chain shut down:

* Carnaby Street
* Oxford Street
* Kensington High Street
* Cranbourn Street
The first restaurant on Goodge Street closed this year. This was a sign that the chain was having trouble.
The company that owned Spaghetti House, Lavval Restaurants Ltd., went into administration on May 6. Now other people are in charge of figuring out what to do with the company.

Spaghetti House had been around for a time but it could not survive the rising costs and the changes in the city. The chain was known for its delicious food but it could not find a way to keep going.
