Video: E-rickshaw driver stuns hospital staff by carrying snake that bit him, here’s what went down
A strange and shocking scene unfolded at a government hospital in Mathura on Monday. A man who had been bitten by a snake came for treatment, but he didn’t leave the snake behind. Instead, he kept it with him in his pocket, surprising hospital staff and other patients.
Deepak, a 39-year-old e-rickshaw driver, reached the Mathura district hospital to get an anti-venom injection after being bitten by a snake. But what grabbed everyone’s attention was that he had brought the snake along with him. The reptile, about 1.5 feet long, was kept in his jacket, causing concern inside the hospital.
As quoted by PTI, Chief Medical Superintendent Neeraj Agrawal said, “The patient was told to leave the reptile outside as it was putting the lives of other patients in danger.”
A video from the hospital went viral on social media. In it, Deepak spoke about the delay in treatment, saying, “I came from Vrindavan. I have been waiting for treatment for past half hour in Mathura district hospital. The government hospital doesn’t have basic facilities for treatment. I was forced to stage sit-in on the road.”
In the video, passersby can also be heard asking him to throw away the snake instead of keeping it in his jacket.
The strange incident grabbed people’s attention online. Many are talking about how dangerous it is to bring a snake into a hospital and the problems patients face in government hospitals. Officials warned that having a snake inside could put everyone at risk.
The video and story are being widely shared, turning a normal hospital visit into something people can’t stop talking about.
