Watch: Nickelodeon stars reunite to help Tylor Chase after viral homeless video
Actor Tylor Chase, who recently went viral after being spotted homeless, has received support following the public concern around his condition. The former child star, best known for playing Martin Qwerly on Nickelodeon’s Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, has reunited with his former co-stars Devon Werkheiser and Daniel Curtis Lee.
According to The US Sun, Chase has been struggling with his health, as confirmed by his mother.
On Wednesday, Daniel Curtis Lee shared an update with fans, revealing that Chase has been placed in a hotel after the two went out for a meal together. In a video posted online, Chase can be seen eating pizza with Lee and reconnecting with Werkheiser via FaceTime.
“Thank you so much,” Tylor Chase told Lee before the two shared a hug.
Lee also shared a caption alongside the video, writing: “Tylor Chase and Cookie reunite with Ned on FaceTime. Well fed and safe from the rain. Hotel secured! One step closer to long term treatment. PS: Tylor wants to livestream video games. Who can help?”
Following the update, many social media users responded with messages of support and prayers for Chase.
One user said, "Very wholesome video but this situation is very sad."
A second user wrote, "I hope Tylor Chase makes a full recovery."
A third user said, "This warms my heart. Such a sad thing that happened to him but I’m glad that his guys are taking care of him."
Chase was first spotted in Riverside, Los Angeles, where a video showed him wearing a worn-out polo shirt and holding up his jeans while struggling to speak. When the person filming asked about his time on Nickelodeon, Chase responded, “Yeah, on Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide.”
The same individual later shared another update about the actor on Instagram.
“Met up with Tyler this morning. He seems to be well rested and in good spirits. The city of Riverside provided transportation and a facility that will help him. Unfortunately he wasn't quite ready to go this morning. The city now has Tyler's dad's phone number and are going to be on top of getting him help. He has a close 038 friend coming in today to speak with him as well. The process has been started,” the post read.
A GoFundMe page had previously been created for Chase and raised over $1,200 before being taken down by his mother. Speaking to The US Sun, she explained why the fundraiser was removed.
“Tylor needs medical attention not money. But he refuses it.”
She added, “I appreciate your effort, but money would not be a benefit to him. I have gotten him several phones, but he loses them within a day or two. He can't manage money for his meds by himself.”
