5 things Deepika Padukone does to stay fit and fabulous at 40

At 40, Deepika Padukone doesn’t just defy age, she redefines it. In between commanding the silver screen and slaying the global red carpets, she still finds time for fitness. Because fitness has been an inseparable part of her life, as long as she can remember. In the star’s own words, “It’s no secret that I love a good workout. And that I don’t work out to ‘look good’ but in fact to ‘feel fit’. Exercise has been part of my lifestyle for as long as I can remember.” From her badminton days to reigning in Bollywood, movement has been her confidant. So what exactly keeps her glowing, strong, and unstoppable at 40? Let’s find out:

2/6

Pilates

Deepika Padukone is a pilates girl. While her fitness regime consists of a mix of exercises such as weight training, cardio, and yoga, her favourite is pilates. And for all the right reasons. Pilates builds core strength, sculpts lean muscles, and improves flexibility and mobility. This practice is also good for the bones and helps reduce stress. Pilates prioritises control over intensity, so it is more sustainable and prevents injury.

3/6

Focused workout regimen

Deepika Padukone has a structured workout regimen. She doesn’t do it all at once. She has a tailored workout regimen, focusing on what her body needs. Her workout is curated in a way that she focuses on one body part daily. And she does love a good leg day. This approach helps her get the best results.

4/6

Yoga for energy

She loves yoga. In fact, she considers it a way of life, rather than a workout. It is part of her wellness routine. Yoga is known to improve focus, reduce stress, and also increase flexibility and strength. Deepika practices yoga regularly. For someone like Deepika Padukone, who is working relentlessly, yoga is rather the calm amidst the chaos. A natural way to attain mental clarity and remain calm and composed.

5/6

5-minute workout routine on busy days

Deepika Padukone is often running against time. She has a demanding schedule that often leaves her with less than 10-minutes for a workout. But guess what? Instead of skipping the workout, she has a simple 5-minute workout that works miraculously. “Whenever I can’t fit in a workout, I practice This Simple 5-Minute Routine. TBT, I practice this routine every day! I find it especially useful after a long flight or even just to decompress,” the actress earlier revealed. So what is the workout routine? She does the Viparita Karani (Legs-Up-The-Wall Pose) yoga pose. “Lying with your legs up against the wall can benefit your mental and physical health. From calming the nervous system to strengthening immune health, this ancient posture offers so much, especially in our stressful and busy world,” the actress said in a post.

6/6

Partnered workouts

If you are not getting enough motivation to hit the gym, may be its time to rethink your workout partner. Because that really matters. Deepika Padukone enjoys working out with someone who matches her energy. Having the right workout partner really brings accountability, a little friendly competition, and more fun.
