Paviettante Madhurachooral Movie Review

Story : A childless couple, Pavithran maash, and his childhood sweetheart and wife Annie teacher live an idyllic life at Chandanapara. And then a stranger walks in and everything changes.

Review : A cinema penned by Sreenivasan invariably lifts the ante of audiences' expectation. In that Paviyettante Madhurachooral is reminiscent of the comic satires borne out of Sreenivasan's pen. The social commentary and the family drama are at display. After Aravindante Adhitikal, Sreenivasan yet again plays the titular character in Paviyettante Madhurachooral.

Pavithran maash is loved and respected as a model citizen in his part of the town. He lives an idyllic life with Annie, his childhood sweetheart and wife, in the midst of his organic farm in Chandanapara. But then one day, when a stranger walks in everything in his life is about to change.

Paviyettante Madhurachooral is branded by the Sreenivasan brand of comic satire and the gift of repartee. The chemistry between the lead pair, Sreenivasan and Lena, seem a natural on-screen. Lena as Annie is unlike any other teacher's part she has played so far. After Kaly, and Kaattu this year, Shebin Benson proves his acting prowess yet again. His character's entry is pivotal to story and he does absolute justice to this responsibility over him.

Seasoned actors like Vijayaraghavan and Harisree Ashokan do not disappoint one bit. P Sukumaran's visuals seamlessly blend into the nature of the narrative. As Sreekrishnan's directorial debut, Paviyettante Madhurachooral has a wonderful start. Given Sreekrishnan's experience in cinema, he does not seem new to direction, though he is. With names like Sreenivasan as the lead and screen writer, Ranjan Abraham as the editor and P Sukumaran as the cinematographer, Paviyettante Madhurachooral definitely has a crew to look out for.

However, as it progresses ahead the film does lose it's flawless sheen. Inspite of an impeccable cast and crew, the story of Paviyettante Madhurachooral weakens as it progresses ; the climax being the film's weakest point. A sudden change in the cast and a time leap later the audience is left at a loss. What started as a good story, told well, slowly descents into the other direction.

Paviyettante Madhurachooral is a clean and well made family entertainer. Like a decent Sreenivasan movie, in its course, it makes you laugh, and also think. Albeit an unfortunate climax, the film is definitely a worthwhile watch this weekend.
