The doodle is now and as per the official blog post, it highlights “group of women sharing wisdom across generations within a quilt embroidered with symbols of progress made over the years.'

The doodle celebrates International Women’s Day and signifies the progress made over the years towards gender equality. The International Day first started back in 1975 and it was celebrated by International Women’s Day (IWD) for the first time.

The post mentions that this day marks the journey towards achieving the gender equality including a fair and safe environment for women employees, right to vote and also the right to hold public office.

IWD marches today focus on issues like gender and racial wage gaps, reproductive rights, and the prevention of violence against women. Today, people celebrate women who have transformed society, fought for equality, and set positive examples for people everywhere.
