Google makes it easier for users to find games for smartwatches
Google introduced a dedicated ‘Other devices’ section in the Play Store to help users easily find apps and games for Android devices other than smartphones and tablets like smartwatches, TV and Auto. A new update for Google Play is streamlining the feature to further improve finding games for WearOS devices.
Wear OS games can be found within Other devices tabWith the latest change, users can now find games for Wear OS-powered smartwatches easily. For this, users need to open the Google Play Store app and tap on the Games section from the bottom ribbon.
Then, users need to tap on the Other devices tab at the top, placed between For You and Top charts tabs.
The Other devices tab earlier had the TV option, the latest update has added the Watch option as well.
What does the curated page offerThe Watch section of the app currently includes two options -- Relax with games for your watch and Challenging games on the go. Under each section, users can find a range of games available for Wear OS watches.
Also, currently, there’s only a handful of games available in the Play Store. Anyhow, users can tap on any game they want to download and play and then watch and install them directly.
Google rencelty added a new auto-archive feature in the Play Store that automatically offloads app data to save smartphone storage. The feature allows users to free up space on their device without completely uninstalling the app from the device. This helps users save on storage without losing the app data stored in it and also resume the app from where they left.
